THE COMPANY

Prepare the Nest is a childbirth education company that provides comprehensive prenatal, birthing, breastfeeding and newborn care classes. Our business has grown tremendously in the past 11 years. We are the preferred provider for several Obstetric offices. Also, in the summer of 2019 we opened our own studio.

POSITION

We are looking to hire a registered nurse with labor and delivery experience or ob/gyn clinic experience. New grads are welcome to apply. We pay very well based on education and experience in the field. Position would be very part-time, teaching a childbirth class or early pregnancy class 2-6 times a month on a weekend day, or weeknights with flexible schedule. Must be available at least 2 weekends a month.

JOB DESCRIPTION –

INSTRUCTOR, for childbirth, newborn care, breastfeeding & prenatal classes.

SUCCESS OF THE ROLE:

The successful candidate should be an engaging speaker that is knowledgeable about subject matter and passionate about expectant parents & parenthood. Candidate should be a driven individual and be able to work independently. Successful candidate shall be able to keep the Childbirth class on track and within the 6-hour period. Instructor will submit reports of class to PTN, as well as reliably and promptly return emails/text messages/phone calls follow through with commitment. Individual shall be professional with all interactions with clients and those around him/her at hospital or other setting.

QUALIFICATIONS

· We are hiring a registered nurse with labor and delivery or clinic ob/gyn experience and willing to obtain a childbirth education certificate at own expense.

Report to supervisor how each class went at conclusion of each class. Turn in the liability forms and evaluation forms. Text rosters and detailed information to admin at conclusion of class. Inform supervisor of class attendance or any important details about the class.  Teach the 6 -hour class. Use 1 -hour lunch to also set up and prepare for second half of class.

· Must be available for occasional meetings and coaching opportunities 3-4 times annually.

· Classes held on Saturday or Sunday 9:30am-6:30pm. Currently we offer 4 Childbirth, Breastfeeding & Newborn Care classes a month. Candidate would teach 1-2 of these classes a month. Candidate may teach 2 of these classes a month usually. Schedules and assignments are given 3-6 months at a time. Some flexibility is allowed to assign dates to instructors. Coverage for other Instructors that may become ill would be expected and mandatory. Last-minute coverage would be subject to a bonus in pay.

· Curriculum would be provided as well as all tools and resources needed to teach.

· Paid time to observe a class first. Will train by co-teaching 1-2 classes depending upon experience and comfort level. Initially will require some of their own time learning and preparing for class.

· Compensation commensurate with experience. Paycheck received once a month. Candidate will be employed as an independent contractor.

· Dress and attitude– professional attire. Attitude: You are representing the company brand – courteous, smile, go the extra mile not only with those you teach but other people you come in contact with at the hospital including the janitors.

· Physically must be able to lift 25 pounds. Must be able stand for periods of (up to) 3 hours at a time.

· Candidate must agree to a background check. Candidate must be able to be bonded.

· Reliability is going to be a top priority for successful candidate!!!
